The incredible agility of the jumping robot Salto-1P

A robotics lab at Berkeley has unveiled their firing robot, which can stabilize after a few jumps, even on non-planar surfaces. This robot is a bio-inspired robot, that is to say, that it is inspired by nature, one could think that this robot was inspired by kangaroos or rabbits, but this is not the case he was inspired by the galago, which is an animal that has the agility of a vertical jump that no other animal can match.

From a technical point of view, the Salto-1P robot is equipped with a small motor and a system of links and gears to jump. When in the air, the robot must stabilize in flight, using a rotating flywheel and two small thrusters to stabilize and reorient between jumps.
